Refinery Expansion Pipe Racks
HPCL [PLACEHOLDER]
Challenge
Erecting 2.1 km of pipe rack through an operating refinery corridor with hot-work permits limited to 6-hour windows and zero tolerance for dropped objects over live lines.
Approach
Modularised the racks into 24 m pre-dressed units — piping, trays and fireproofing fitted in our yard — moved on SPMTs at night and set in single lifts, cutting site hot work by 70%.
Result
38,000 inch-dia of piping with a 0.4% weld repair rate; the corridor was energised on schedule and the client adopted our modular method as its standard for the next phase.
